The right weather is here! Clean roads, warm sunny air, early sunrises and late sunsets—somebody hit the pause button. Having more issues with the Cutlass transmission, popping out of 2nd and 3rd. Time for a trip up to Autogear in Syracuse for a rebuild on the Muncie, which they’ll do right in front of you. Looking forward to that. Got a real nice looking batch of spalted maple from the up the hill upstate back from a new stabilization guy yesterday, and it looks awesome, so that’ll be what’s up here for the next few months… and these—took the colors and the 210’s to town this week. Hope you enjoy, left to right:
...that’s a Journeyman 210 in 52100 carbon steel and spalted sweet gum, with pink and white liners and pink, steel and brass mosaic pins ($650–Sold), a Journeyman Paring in 1095 carbon steel and grey and red G10, with red and steel mosaic pins ($300–Sold), a Journeyman 210 in 52100 and black, blue and yellow G10, with yellow, steel and brass mosaic pins ($650), a Prospect 120 in AEB-L stainless steel and spalted sweet gum, with yellow and white G10 liners and yellow, steel and brass mosaic pins ($350–Sold), a Journeyman 240 in 52100 and black walnut, with red and white G10 liners and red, steel and brass mosaic pins ($750–Sold), a Journeyman 120 in 1095 and spalted sweet gum, with black and yellow G10 liners and yellow, steel and brass mosaic pins ($350–Sold), and a Journeyman 210 in 52100 and spalted maple, with black and white G10 liners and white, steel and brass mosaic pins ($650—Sold).
All of that wood comes from the forests around my place upstate, and all of those mosaic pins (including that awesome new star one!) were made by the fantastic Sally Martin of Provision Forge in Oregon. These all come with sayas made for each here in the shop and FYI: the number attached to each knife is that blade’s length, from tip to heel, in mm; and new stuff goes up here Sundays at 5pm.
Send me an email if one of these belongs with you or yours, and I hope you have a beautiful spring week!
